The release of Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster movie, Dunkirk is due this Friday, 21 July, and is already being declared a big hit with five star reviews today from several sources . In anticipation of this, 40 authors of the Facebook Second World War Club have got together to offer an epic book sale.
A selection of their novels – all which share riveting stories of WWII – will be discounted to 99p (99c) between July 21st and July 27th. These fantastic works of fiction will transport the reader back in time to experience the stories of love, courage, compassion and bravery in an era that we should never forget. One writer, Suzy Henderson, has written a fantastic blog about the events that happened and provided inspiration for the film.
But that’s not all… the Second World War Club authors will be hosting other events, prizes, podcasts and giveaways including:
- The chance to win a signed copy of one of eleven selected WWII stories featured in the sale.
- A 7-day giveaway of 7 audio copies of The Importance of Being Churchill by Lorri Moulton.
- A promo week giveaway of Dunkirk: The History Behind the Major Motion Picture by Joshua Levine.
For regular up-to-date information visit the official web page where you will also find a list of the top 40 films, compiled by the events organiser. I discovered I’ve watched 22 of them, keeping my husband, Simon company whilst he does the ironing! I’m so blessed.
