There aren’t many things that come free in life, not that doesn’t come with a caveat or two. My on-line writing group, Writers Abroad, produce a free literary magazine every 6 months. And Issue 3 was published on 1st September. Not got your copy yet? Well you should – you could win a free e-copy of our last Anthology.WA Magazine (3) is available via Joomag (a free service foronline digital content) and in PDF format. The magazine is a diverse publication, with something for everyone. A little like the members of Writers Abroad, who are all ex-pats and reside all over the world. Previous issues can also be accessed over at Writers Abroad Magazine.
Short stories, poetry and articles share the space along with an author interview; insights into where WA members live; book reviews; tips on English Grammar; local recipes and even photo’s. It’s something you can dip into when you have a spare five minutes or settle down and read from beginning to end. And it’s somewhere that can transport you around the world from the comfort of your armchair.
Putting together a magazine isn’t an easy task, like all publications, it takes planning, commitment and a bucketful of patience. We don’t have the luxury of meeting face to face, so everything we do is on-line, through our website, via email and we ‘meet’ up every couple of weeks on Skype. Despite the limitations that our virtual relationship can bring, I’m rather proud of the WA Magazine.
And if you complete our very short survey (it takes two minutes, honestly) you will be entered into a prize draw to win an e-copy of Foreign and Far Away, our 2013 Anthology. We’d love to hear what you think and your suggestions to improve and develop our magazine.
And if you like what you read, why not subscribe to make sure you don’t miss the next issue, due out March 2016?
