Works in Progress: Health Check June

Monthly Health CheckThe month of June has been a sad one as two dear writing friends over at Writers Abroad sadly passed away within days of one another. So it’s been a tough time for my writing. But I know they’ll be sat somewhere telling me to pick up my pen and get it together, as they put their feet up with a glass of something or another. So here’s to Jany and Mary, I miss them both.

  • Morning Journal: This fell by the wayside, but I did manage to write and post a Monday Muse on Writers Abroad, so a positive to build on. All in all around 900 words
  • Blog Posts: 6 posts published (four here and two on The Good{Expat}Life Blog) – a total of 3266 words.
  • Wolf Moon Edit: I haven’t got much further with this, but I am using in on an Editing and Revision course with Savvy authors so I’m hoping to complete it by mid July
  • The Good(Expat)Life Series II: I queried a the UK women’s market about this as a serial and was asked to submit it for consideration as a Pocket Novel! So last week I edited and polished 42,000 words, so that wasn’t bad. Talk about deadlines and getting things done. However, the editor is now on hols until 13 July so am forgetting all about it. Honest.
  • Competitions Submissions: I submitted one short story to Words Magazine but no news on any success as yet.
  • Other: I’ve got nowhere with my anthology submission for Writers Abroad (for another month) but have to get something done now. We’ve been busy reading and selecting stories and poems and I’ve set up the editing group.

Until Later,
